r.s. is a super-cool multi-disciplinary artist who paints, builds, sews, etc. she also loves horses a whole lot. the last time i went to her house, she was in the process of painting a horse mural on the wall. she also had a diarama from one of her friends about horses. i is interesting because i never knew she liked horses until i saw her house. it's not like she goes around talking about horses, or is horse-crazy in that girlie way at all. and to my knowledge, she doesn't own a horse or anything. this was one of my first watercolors with this mail art piece. it was very much process-oriented, because i had to keep making it even when i felt like i had screwed up. after i finished it, i clucked my teeth as if to say, "wow, this sucks!" so then i put it down. looking at it now, i don't feel that bad about it. actually, it's kinda neat. just goes to show what this mail art is doing to me.
